Pandemonium Rocks to go ahead with ‘some changes coming’

New rock festival Pandemonium Rocks will go ahead with its scheduled concerts, despite earlier reports that the shows had been canceled.

Legendary rock acts Blondie, Alice Cooper, Placebo, Deep Purple and Wheatus are among the headline acts who will perform on two stages.

A spokesperson for the festival took to social media on Wednesday to reassure disappointed fans that concerts are still taking place, albeit with some changes.

‘Pandemonium will go ahead in April as planned. While some changes are coming, we can assure you that the dates remain in effect,” they began.

‘Completing the logistics is taking longer than expected. Our complete focus is to provide you with the best possible event. Watch this space and thank you for your patience.”

They also warned fans not to pay attention to unverified media reports about an apparent festival cancellation.

‘No, we haven’t been cancelled. We still sell tickets. Only get your Pandemonium news from us, not from unverified news reports.’

Earlier this year the festival caused some controversy when it reportedly clashed with Sydney’s traditional Anzac Day march.

Thousands of partygoers were expected to flock to the Domain in Sydney on April 25 for the day-long Pandemonium event.

At the same time, less than a kilometer away, thousands of Aussies lined the city streets for the traditional Anzac Day march, with up to 10,000 active service members and veterans expected to take part.

The hard/punk rock concert was forced to cancel its upcoming tour just a month before its start, according to a report from Nine news.

Meanwhile, rock legends Deep Purple are no longer showing the festival as part of their 2024 tour schedule website and it is unclear whether they will still perform.

Event promoters called Pandemonium Australia’s hottest new rock festival and ‘a rock fan’s dream come true’.

“Dive into the epic lineup of legendary acts whose countless hits have become the soundtrack of our lives,” according to the concert’s Facebook page.

The festival was expected to kick off in Melbourne on April 20 before moving to Sydney, the Gold Coast and Bribie Island.
