From viral-fame Olympians to… viral-fame Olympians! Pole vault hero Armand Duplantis and his model girlfriend become breakdancer Raygun and Turkish pistol shooter in brilliant Halloween outfits

Olympic pole vault champion Armand Duplantis and his model girlfriend Desiré Inglander have been praised by fans after their Paris 2024-themed Halloween costume.

Duplantis, affectionately known as ‘Mondo’, shared their costumes via social media on Thursday.

The pole vault world record holder imitated Turkish silver medalist Yusuf Dikec, while Inglander chose to resemble Australian breakdancer Raygun.

Dikec had gone viral on social media for his nonchalant attitude while competing in the mixed team 10-meter air pistol event.

The Turkish shooter helped his team win silver at the event, but caught the fans’ attention by casually putting his non-shooting hand in his pocket.

Inglander adopted the Australian uniform and pose of breakdancer Raygun

Duplantis replicated the pose on social media, replicating the gunman’s silver hair and wearing a T-shirt with the word “Turkyie.”

Inglander was seen wearing the Australian team kit from the Olympics, with the model striking one of the poses that made Raygun famous at the Games.

The Australian Olympian, whose real name is Rachael Gunn, became a worldwide source of ridicule.

Dressed in an Australian tracksuit, Raygun, 37, put on an infamous performance, jumping like a kangaroo and striking a series of bizarre poses.

Raygun had received a total of 0.0 points from the judges.

Fans were quick to hail Duplantis and Inglander’s costumes on social media, with one labeling their Halloween efforts as “iconic.”

“The quality is so high,” said one fan, while another posted “this is so fire.”

The couple were labeled as the ‘coolest customers’ by another, while another enjoyed the choice, writing ‘Not Raygun’ and adding laughing emojis.

The Swede then made headlines after kissing his model girlfriend following his win

It is not the first time Duplantis has emulated Dikec, with the Swedish-American pole vault star having struck the Turkish shooter’s pose to celebrate defending his Olympic title in Paris.

He adopted the post after breaking the Olympic record of 6.10m to seal gold, with the star later revealing he had been dared to adopt the post by Australian pole vaulter Kurtis Marschall.

Duplantis then provided one of the standout moments of the Games by breaking his own world record by clearing 6.25 meters.

He celebrated the achievement by racing to Inglander, with the couple sharing a passionate kiss in front of 70,000 spectators at the Stade de France and viewers around the world.

Duplantis revealed earlier this month that he proposed to his 23-year-old girlfriend, the content creator, in the glitzy Hamptons.

He told Inglander they were taking part in a stylish photo shoot for Vogue before getting down on one knee and popping the question.

He told Vogue Scandinavia: “I was more nervous than at the Olympics.”

Inglander told the publication: “I’m still shocked. I’m such a control freak, it’s impossible to surprise me.’

However, the pole vault star had another surprise in store: he brought their respective families from Louisiana and Sweden to celebrate their happy news.

The athlete has been in a long-term relationship with Inglander, from Sweden, where Armand’s mother is originally from, for almost four years.

Inglander appeared to reference their upcoming wedding in another Halloween post, with the model sharing a series of movie posters featuring the couple.

In one post, the couple was featured on the poster of the movie ‘Mr and Mrs’, with the addition ‘coming soon’.

The couple reportedly met at a midsummer celebration in Sweden in 2020, during the festival that celebrates the longest day of the year, where the sun never sets in the country.

The two then hit it off, amid a few hiccups over language barriers and cultural differences – with Armand having grown up in the US and Desire, Sweden.
