‘I really hope we can have another baby. We only want one more. I’m not going to ask for too much more in this life, I promise. I just want another baby,” Olivia explained.
Referring to the treatment, the mother of one continued, “The hormone suppression therapy is cruel. It gave me next level debilitating exhaustion, I was in bed all day, all day. My quality of life was so minimal. I couldn’t be there for my baby.’
When Michael asked if Malcolm had “noticed a change” in his mother, Olivia replied, “Yes. I mean, every time Malcolm came home, he would run to my bed because he knows I’m there.
‘He associated that with me, that was just too difficult for me. I had to find out if there was another option and that’s why I opted for a hysterectomy with oophorectomy. Almost immediately afterwards, my energy came back full force,” she added.
Olivia started dating comedian John in 2021 and the couple welcomed Malcolm on November 24 of the same year.
When asked how he had supported her through her diagnosis, Olivia revealed, “He’s honestly just the best person. He comes to everything in life with so much compassion and understanding.
‘But the only problem with that is that he makes me laugh so much that I think, “There are times when you have to leave the room, this is crazy.” I just say, ‘Leave the room, you have to go. You’re going to make me angry now. I’m literally going to take a stitch, it’s going to hurt!'” she laughed.
