A magnetic charger popular with iPhone users has been recalled from Officeworks over fears the device could catch fire.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued an urgent recall of all Comsol Pty Ltd 10000mAh 20W USB-A and USB-C magnetic wireless power banks on Wednesday morning.

The recall states that the product “may short circuit, overheat and catch fire,” which could lead to “a risk of severe burns and/or property damage if the battery overheats and catches fire.”

The battery pack is used to charge iPhones 12, 13 and 14 through the magnetic charging port on the back of the phone.
