Grim twist in the mystery of missing woman, 30, as police scramble into the woods near the Blue Mountains
A large-scale search has been launched in bushland for a woman who disappeared without a trace from Sydney five months ago.
Jessica Zrinski, 30, was last seen in Bossley Park in southwest Sydney on November 25 and reported her disappearance to police a week later.
Local police conducted extensive investigations before homicide detectives took over the investigation led by Strike Force Keder.
Inquiries revealed that Jessica was in the parking lot of a hotel on Mimosa Road in nearby Greenfield Park around 10 p.m. on November 28, before getting into a blue Holden Commodore station wagon 10 minutes later.
The vehicle is said to have headed west on the M4 and Great Western Highway towards the Blue Mountains.
On Friday, researchers launched a land survey in the Hampton State Forest, about 15 miles north of Jenolan in central-western NSW, as part of the ongoing investigation.
Detectives believe Jessica entered or visited the state forest after getting into the Holden Commodore.

Researchers have vowed to leave no stone unturned in their ongoing investigations.
“Our detectives are conducting this search to find any lead that Jessica may have been here and will leave no stone unturned in our quest to locate her,” said homicide detective Danny Doherty.
“We urge anyone with information on Jessica’s whereabouts to come forward. We want to find her and give her family some much-needed answers.”
The extensive search includes officers from PolAir, the Dog Unit, the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, along with SES and NSW RFS volunteers.
The search is expected to last through Sunday.
The search was launched just weeks after investigators released CCTV footage of Jessica’s last known movements on Nov. 28.
“Detectives have been told that Jess is a friendly, approachable individual who has been known to hitchhike people she didn’t necessarily know,” Det Supt Doherty said at the time.
“It has been almost six months since no one has seen or spoken to Jess, and we want to speak to anyone who may have had contact with her on the night of Monday, November 28, 2022 to the following morning.
“The reality is that detectives are investigating all lines of inquiry, including whether she encountered foul play.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
