NRL legend Darius Boyd’s home was broken into while his three young daughters were asleep – before the creeps stole the family’s cars and fled: ‘I just feel absolutely violated’
Creepy thieves have broken into the home of former Brisbane Broncos skipper Darius Boyd while he was sleeping in the home with his wife and three young daughters.
The burglars prowled around the rented house in Bulimba, central Brisbane, before grabbing the keys to the family’s two cars and driving off in it.
Inside the home, Boyd, 36, his wife Kayla and daughters Willow, 7, Romi, 3, and Gia, 2, were shocked to later discover it had been broken into and robbed while they slept.
“I just feel absolutely violated,” said wife Kayla, 35, as she revealed the shocking theft in an Instagram story.
“And I feel really sick in my stomach knowing there were people in our sacred space.”

“Last night our house that we are currently renting in Bulimba was broken into while we were all sleeping,” she added.
“They entered the side of the property through x4 gates and broke in through the back of the property, entered our house, walked through the house and took the car keys and took both cars.”
She admitted that the family was shocked by the theft, but she was relieved that no one was injured in the brutal robbery.
“Stolen both cars, Darius’s sponsor car and the loaner car I drove,” she posted. “The most important thing is that we are all okay and unharmed.
She added: “If you live locally, please stay safe.”
Boyd played over 200 games for the Broncos, representing Queensland in 28 State of Origin games and Australia in 28 more, before retiring in 2020.
He married Kayla in 2012.
