Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane weekend weather: The forecast every footy fan needs to know about ahead of the 2024 NRL Grand Final

Thousands of NRL fans who headed to Sydney this long weekend for the highly anticipated Grand Final can look forward to sunny skies and pleasant weather.

Conditions around Australia look mainly clear this weekend, apart from a few showers in the South East on Saturday, while the east coast will be clear for the Storm and Panthers match on Sunday evening.

Crowds of up to 80,000 are expected to flock to Accor Stadium in Sydney’s Olympic Park, where temperatures are expected to reach a high of 28 degrees Celsius.

Millions of Australians are looking forward to a long weekend.

The ACT, New South Wales and South Australia will get a holiday for Labor Day on Monday, while Queensland will get one for the King’s Birthday.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Angus Hines said parts of South Australia could see light showers this weekend.

“For Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney, Sydney is more likely to see a few quick showers on Saturday, with fair weather for much of the day,” he said.
