Nottingham Forest are close to a deal for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas and a deal is now believed to be feasible after earlier wobble.

Nottingham Forest are close to finally getting the goalkeeper they wanted after reviving talks with Paris St Germain for Keylor Navas.

The deal for the Costa Rican international was called off yesterday and Forest had discussed his teammate Sergio Rico and Sampdoria’s Emil Audero. However, a deal is now close.

It comes as Steve Cooper’s side desperately search for a replacement after first-choice goalkeeper Dean Henderson suffered a thigh injury earlier this month.

Keylor Navas has fallen out of favor at PSG after the irruption of Gianluigi Donnarumma

The 36-year-old is now nearing a deal with Nottingham Forest after Dean Henderson’s injury.

The manager said at the time that Henderson, who is on loan from Manchester United, would be out for around five weeks.

Navas has a wealth of experience and won the Champions League three times during his five seasons at Real Madrid.

He has fallen out of favor in Paris this season following the appearance of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The 36-year-old, who has made 110 caps for Costa Rica, could be an excellent addition to the Tricky Trees as they look to continue their recent rise up the Premier League table.

The deal with Steve Cooper’s side seemed to close earlier this week, but now appears close to completion.

They have already moved up to 13th place and reached the EFL Cup semi-finals, but they will face a tough test in their next outing against an improving Leeds side.

Cooper’s team already added midfielder Danilo, midfielder Gustavo Scarpa and forward Chris Wood to their squad in the winter transfer window, in addition to the 23 players they signed after promotion last summer.

Forest are closing in on a move for Felipe from Atletico Madrid after agreeing a £2m transfer fee, while they are also expected to announce the signing of Jonjo Shelvey from Newcastle on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
