Nintendo has a new Indie World showcase coming

Nintendo will air a new Indie World presentation on Wednesday, April 17, a showcase that promises “approximately 20 minutes of announcements and updates about indie games coming to Nintendo Switch in 2024,” the the company said in an announcement Tuesday.

The new Indie World showcase will stream live at 10am EDT/7am PDT on Nintendo’s YouTube And Nervous twitching channels. You can watch April’s Indie World in the embedded video above.

Indie World showcases typically come with new game announcements, demo releases, and surprise releases. You’ll definitely want to check out the Nintendo Switch eShop later today.

Nintendo’s most recent Indie World showcase aired in November 2023 and featured Switch games Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, Backpack hero, Blade Chimera, Core keeper, and others. Nintendo didn’t say which indie games are expected to appear during Wednesday’s showcase, but expect the highly anticipated ones Hollow Knight: Silk Song could appear are higher than ever. The sequel of Team Cherry op Hollow Knight used to be recently rated by the Australian Rating Boardusually an indication that a game’s release is imminent.

It’s unlikely the company’s next console will launch at Indie World in April. “Switch 2” will reportedly release sometime in early 2025, and it’s possible we won’t hear official details about that next-gen console until summer or fall.
