Nicole Kidman stays sun safe as she hits the beach on New Year’s Eve in a hat, sunglasses and rash vest – after discussing her ‘over the top’ skincare

Nicole Kidman is known for being sun shy.

The Australian actress always covers up to avoid the scourge of harmful UV rays, but that doesn't stop her from enjoying the beach.

The 56-year-old is back Down Under and has recently been spotted visiting several coastal locations around Sydney's northern beaches.

On New Year's Eve, Nicole rang in 2024 by hitting the sand in a hat, sunglasses and a rashie, also known as a rashie vest.

She made sure her skin was protected from the sun but clearly had a ball as she jovially posed in front of a sky-writing heart symbol.

'There is love in the air! #HappyNewYear xx,” the Moulin Rogue actress wrote in her caption alongside the image, which was posted to Instagram.

Nicole has previously said that she is 'low maintenance' when it comes to her skincare regime, and says she uses a regenerating cream with retinol at night.

During the day, the Eyes Wide Shut star said she uses SPF 100 and invisible zinc.

'I use the invisible zinc when I exercise or when I go to the beach or when I play tennis, also when I'm filming, because it's really good for filming, because of course that's possible 'I don't have to applying again and again when I'm outside,' Nicole said PopSugar.

“I mean, people would say I'm exaggerating, but I don't think so,” she said.

The Academy Award winner went on to explain that sunscreen helps prevent aging skin.

“If young people learn that early, they will have incredible skin when they grow up,” Nicole said.

It comes after the Academy Award winner gave her fans a rare glimpse into life on her Bunya Hill farm.

The Hollywood star posted to Instagram on Thursday to share what she's been up to at the $6.5 million estate in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

In a series of photos, the Moulin Rouge! star looked hard at work as she fed baby animals from a bottle.
