Nick Mohammed steps into the shoes of Claudia Winkleman as the Celebrity Traitors runner-up will host the show's new West End production

Celebrity Traitors runner-up Nick Mohammed has been announced as host of the new West End production The Traitors – Acts Of Betrayal.

The comedian will step into the shoes of Claudia Winkleman from May 11, 2027 at the new show at the Gillian Lynne Theater in London.

Nick competed on The Celebrity Traitors as Faithful and finished in second place to David Olusoga.

In a fun promo video to mark the exciting announcement, Claudia had him swear under the oath of The Traitors.

As in the BBC show, Claudia made Nick solemnly swear at Ardross Castle before taking on the role.

Nick said he couldn’t be more “delighted and privileged” to take on Claudia’s role in the stage version.

He said: ‘At first I didn’t want to believe that a series of fictional plays based on The Traitors could ever have as many brilliant twists as the real thing – or be as compelling.

‘But John Finnemore has created an absolute masterpiece: a cycle of five plays, each as funny as it is moving, and of course deeply, deeply unpredictable!

“And under the direction of the brilliant Robert Hastie, I couldn’t be happier to be taking part in such an original and hugely ambitious show.

‘To take on the role of Claudia, so to speak, is not only a privilege but a real challenge as an actor – I simply don’t have enough hair! But I will do my utmost not to disappoint you.

“Anyway, this time I promise not to abandon the entire nation at the last minute. Now let the game begin…’

Each piece in The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal tells the entire story of an entire and separate game: the Traitors are chosen, the round tables and murders take their toll, and by the end of the evening a winner is crowned.

What unfolds in an entire television series happens in one exciting evening.

The daring new production also does something television cannot: it answers the question of who would have won if different players had been chosen as Traitors.

From Monday to Friday, the story starts identically, but follows five different paths. Characters exiled or killed in the beginning of one version emerge victorious in another.

On Saturday, the audience decides who will wear the mantle, and their choice determines which of the five plays takes place that day.

A world full of paranoia, betrayal and shifting alliances, The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal is an exciting night out where nothing is certain and no one is safe.

Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, said: “The actor playing The Host in these plays must hold a live audience in five different ways for an entire game every night.

‘It needs charm, mischief, acting talent and complete control of the stage. Nick has all four, and the fact that he has played the game and knows the ins and outs of it is a wonderful bonus.”

The stage production will begin previews May 11, 2027. Tickets are on sale now at thetraitorsonstage.com
