  • The Chicago Bears have selected Caleb Williams No. 1 overall to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.

Williams has long been labeled as the best quarterback in his class since winning the Heisman Trophy in 2022.

The Bears moved on from 2021 first-round pick Justin Fields to make room for Williams and traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a 2025 sixth-round pick last month.

After Chicago dealt Fields, the union between Williams and the Bears was all but official, with all doubts resolved until a rouge pick on Thursday night.

When asked what his first goal would be as Bears quarterback, Williams told ESPN, “I’m learning all my teammates’ names.”

Williams arrived at the draft in Detroit with his mother, Dayna Price, and a mystery woman. Previously, there were rumors that he was in a relationship with Valery Orellana.

Williams began his college career at Oklahoma as the backup behind fellow 2024 draft-eligible Spencer Rattler.

After Lincoln Riley left the Sooners to join USC, Williams followed him to the Pac-12 Conference.

In his first year as a Trojan, Williams won the Heisman Trophy with 52 combined touchdowns and just five interceptions.

In 2023, despite downgrading his supporting cast, Williams still had 41 total touchdowns. He wasn’t a finalist for the Heisman Trophy last year.

Chicago will be back on the clock for pick No. 9, where it will target a defensive player or a receiver for Williams.

The team has already acquired Keenan Allen this offseason, who will likely serve as the team’s top wide receiver.

The Bears won seven of their final thirteen games of the season after losing the first four, extending the team’s losing streak to fourteen games.

Now most of Chicago’s reconstruction appears to be complete.
