Channel Nine has revealed that the latest season of MAFS only narrowly averted disaster after a bride’s dress caught fire during a wedding ceremony. The incident, which was edited out before the episode aired, occurred when American-born Alyssa Barmonde, 35, was marrying 36-year-old Duncan James at a macadamia farm in Byron Bay, NSW ( in the photo)
The attractive blonde explained that her dress had gotten too close to a heater and caught fire. Fortunately, no one was injured as the flames were quickly extinguished.
Duncan, also interviewed by 9Entertainment, recounted how he kept his cool while alerting Alyssa to the danger.
‘I said, ‘Alyssa, you’re smoking!’ and she said ‘Thank you!’” Duncan recalled.
I said… “No, you’re literally smoking.” There was smoke coming out from behind her!

Reflecting on the chaos, Duncan paid tribute to his new bride: “Any woman who can handle that on her wedding day, congratulations to her!”
Alyssa was later told that the fiery wedding dress could be a good omen as she set out on her romantic journey with Duncan.
“It was pretty cute because my man of honor said my wedding dress got destroyed because that means I never have to have another one,” she said.
Although Alyssa seems bubbly and sweet on the surface, make no mistake: She admits that she can be bossy and insists even when she knows she’s wrong.
Duncan, who is a cyber security specialist, entered the experiment looking for a best friend and a lover.
His dating record so far has been disappointing, as the handsome techie often finds himself in relationships that aren’t compatible.
