A flight attendant had shared the top 10 things every traveler should have in their carry-on luggage for a long-haul flight.

Air New Zealand in-flight service manager Ben Whatman has been in the air for almost a decade and always makes sure to pack his 10 essentials when he flies.

Because of the dry cabin air, Ben always has an eye spray, face mist, lip balm and spot cleaner on hand to prevent dry skin, lips, eyes and blemishes.

The frequent flyer also carries noise-canceling headphones and a Bluetooth device to connect them to his in-flight entertainment systems, as well as phone charging cables and lens cleaning cloths.

To stay organised, Ben also carries a zippered travel wallet, notepad and pens at all times.

Air New Zealand in-flight service manager Ben Whatman, who has worked as a flight attendant for almost a decade, has revealed the 10 things that should always be packed in hand luggage

“Flying conditions often leave your skin and lips feeling dry, so I always carry a lip balm with me. My favorite is Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 in Mint,” Ben told Kiwi News Outlet Stuff.

A facial mist, says Ben, can keep your skin from feeling dry, and he uses the Dermalogica Antioxidant Hydramist in a 30ml travel size.

“A spritz of this wakes me up right before breakfast on the long-haul flights. This keeps my skin nice and hydrated and feels good for the rest of the flight,” he said.

To prevent breakouts from appearing, Ben swears by the Origins Super Spot Remover, which he says is an “absolute miracle product.”

“Travelling and changing weather conditions can wreak havoc on your skin… If I see a spot or pimple appear, I’ll get rid of it in no time,” he said.

To make sure his device never runs out of battery, Ben carries a clear plastic bag with chargers and cables. He also finds it helpful to have a notepad and pens handy to stay organized

To power all his electronic devices at all times, Ben carries a clear plastic bag containing chargers and cables with several international power adapters.

Ben discovered a handy gadget that allows travelers to connect their wireless headphones to the inflight entertainment systems.

The Twelve South AirFly plugs into the headphone jack on the individual TV screens and acts as a Bluetooth adapter.

To jot down travel ideas and to-do lists and fill out the international arrival forms on board, Ben always has a notepad and pen handy.

Finally, Ben uses a zippered travel wallet to store and organize his important documents and foreign currency.
