A man who police say “woke up and decided to kill someone” brutally stabbed an Uber driver in Louisiana on Thursday as she was dropping him off at a hotel and then posted a video of his victim dying on Facebook.

Brandon Jacobs, 29, was staying at a Travelodge and ordered an Uber with the intention of attacking whoever turned up, police said.

Yolanda Dillon, 54, an Uber driver and employee of the New Orleans Police Department, became his random victim.

In fact, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph LoPinto said there was no motive except wanton violence: “He woke up yesterday morning and decided he was going to kill someone.”

Dillon picked up Jacobs in downtown New Orleans and took her to the hotel, where police believe Jacobs attacked her, stabbing her at least once and possibly twice from the backseat.

Brandon Jacobs, 29, was staying at the hotel and ordered an Uber with the intention of attacking whoever showed up, police said.

Yolanda Dillon, 54, was dropping a passenger off at a Travelodge in Harvey Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m. when she was attacked.

He then got out of the car and started recording a video of Dillon suffering in the car and uploaded it to his Facebook account.

Dillon, who also worked for the New Orleans police as a budget analyst, was taken to a local hospital where she died of her injuries. Authorities found her inside her own car.

The video was removed from Facebook on Friday after police worked with the social media giant.

After Dillon Jacobs, he walked to his room at the Travelodge as police tried to contact Uber to find him.

They were finally able to locate it after finding Dillon’s cell phone in the vehicle and using an app to close the fare.

Police arrested Jacobs late Thursday as he was leaving his bedroom to smoke a cigarette, according to authorities.

The suspect was found staying at a Travelodge in Harvey, Louisiana and was arrested as he was leaving his room to smoke a cigarette.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph LoPinto said there was no motive except wanton violence: “He woke up yesterday morning and decided he was going to kill someone.”

Lopinto said of the Facebook video: ‘It certainly is horrible. Fortunately, he does not have a large following. It’s a sad, sad case.

Dillon was described as a nice homebody who cared for her ailing 83-year-old mother while she drove for Uber to help pay the bills.

Her mother Edna told her nola.com: ‘She was a good person. She took very good care of me.

She was also active in her church and annually handed out dozens of red and green candy bags to the children of her parish.

Superintendent Shaun Ferguson noted the loss of his own police department: ‘Our team is taking it very hard. He was an extremely charming person.

Jacobs has been charged with second degree murder.
