Netflix fans have praised Liam Neeson’s ‘great’ new thriller, calling it his ‘best film since Taken’.

In the Land of Saints and Sinners, directed by Robert Lorenz, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2023, was added to Netflix on Friday.

The Taken star, 71, played the recently retired assassin who becomes embroiled in a deadly cat-and-mouse game with a trio of vengeful terrorists.

Set in Ireland in the 1970s, the film stars Liam as Finbar Murphy, living in Donegal and kicking butt with the local police officer (Ciarán Hinds).

And one day he feels the need for redemption; maybe he would have taken up gardening.

But fate has something that better suits his unique skills when a brutal group of terrorists arrive in the sleepy seaside village he calls home.

Viewers are raving about the Irish actor’s latest film, claiming it is one of his best performances.

Taking X, formerly known as Twitter, fans called the film a brilliant film and is one to watch again.

Liam was joined by former Irish Oscar nominees Kerry Condon (Doireann McCann) and Ciarán (Vincent O’Shea), as well as Irish film veteran Colm Meaney (Robert McQue).

Despite rave reviews online, Crime Watch only scored 6.3/10 out of 12,000 reviews on IMDB.

And the song didn’t see much success on Rotten Tomatoes either, as it scored 83 percent based on 69 reviews on the Tomatometer.

Filming for the movie took place over two months in the villages of Glencolmcille and Kilcar, along with the fishing port of Killybegs and surrounding areas.

A number of locals were also hired as extras for the filming, which would provide a major economic boost to the area.
