In addition to her beautiful album, she wrote: ‘Heaven has gained a very special angel, a legend and the HERO of our entire family. Unfortunately, we lost our grandfather Eddie on Monday evening at the age of 92.

I’ve been dreading this day for forever, losing you hurts so much, but remembering our wonderful memories is what gets me through. I’ll never forget staying with you most weekends and insisting that it was me, you and the nanny singing opera as loud as we could on the ladder.

‘From never giving up on teaching me how to ride a bike, even though we had to go back to the babysitter every time to tell her I still couldn’t do it, to never forgetting to take home my favorite collector’s magazine every Friday after work I still have it now and will keep it forever as a memory of us.

“You were a one-of-a-kind grandfather and so many people agreed, the most incredible, selfless gentlemen anyone could have ever met.

“The impact you left on so many shows this: They simply don’t make them like you anymore.

‘I was allowed to be by your side until the end and I will never forget that. I already miss you and your big, strong hugs so much, I will miss you forever. Always sweet, your little effol mush ‘

Natalya’s tribute comes after Jess Wright shared an emotional tribute to her beloved grandfather Eddie following his death at the age of 92.

Among the photos Jess shared were images of Eddie walking her down the aisle on her wedding day, as well as sweet images from her childhood.

In a lengthy caption, Jess wrote: ‘If only I could hug you and feel you hug me so tight again. The loss of your grandfather has broken my heart again.

“From the day I met you, there was no doubt that you would be my best friend. If you look up the words “legend” and “hero” in the dictionary it would say Grandpa Eddie and everyone knew it, which makes me extremely proud, they just don’t make them like you anymore and that’s a fact.

“Your kindness, generosity, caring ways with your beautiful smile and undeniable love for your family will live on forever. You set the tone for men everywhere.

‘Thank you for giving me away at our English ceremony, it really meant the world to me. Thank you for being you. Thank you for letting me live with you as a little girl and for letting me sit on your lap every night without exception and watch reruns of Only Fools & Horses over and over again.

‘For your help in writing a letter to the BBC in the hope of meeting David Jason, which thank goodness we never sent as I will cherish it forever, as you did in our memory box. You still laugh at the same fools jokes that I told you night after night and a fireman carried me up and down the stairs every day.

“It’s hard to pay him back, but this was the moment before it’s too late.”

In the programme, Mark described Eddie as ‘a tough ex-British champion boxer, but on the other hand he’s just a lovely gentleman.’

Mark learned a lot about his father’s side of the family over the course of the programme, as he told viewers about growing up in London’s East End.

“My great-great-grandfather was a bit of an East End boy. He was a bit of a thief, but everything he did was to support his family.”

‘He had eight children who lived in a small house in East Ham. Ultimately, I saw the good in him. He lied about his age to get into the army and he was a great soldier.”

Mark also expressed his love for Eddie during lockdown and fought back tears on his Heart Radio show as he read out messages from listeners missing their relatives.
