NASCAR’s Xfinity Series Ag-Pro 300 at Talladega had to be stopped Saturday when driver Blaine Perkins’ car flipped six times in a terrifying crash.

During the second leg of the race, Perkins was hit by Jade Buford and the impact caused Perkins’ car to go airborne and then roll down the track.

Although he was able to climb out of the wreckage, Perkins was transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution.

Also during the crash, a wheel came off Perkins’ car and bounced off the hood of Kaz Grala’s car as Dexter Stanley spun hard into an inside wall. Stanley’s race was over, but Grala continued.

The crash caused a nearly 12-minute stoppage for NASCAR to perform track surface repairs.

Perkins, who was seen during practice on Friday, was able to walk away from the incident on his own

Perkins’ scary crash was actually the one of two times the race was red-flagged, when Daniel Hemric’s car ended up on its roof in a wreck in the first overtime.

In that incident, there were three laps to go under the rules when Hemric – as the leader – pulled off the track to block Sheldon Creed and the contact caused a massive crash.

Jeb Burton won his second career Xfinity Series race at Talladega, Creed finished second and Parker Kligerman took third as Chevrolet took the podium.

Cole Custer in a Ford was fourth followed by four more Chevy drivers. Kaz Grala in 24th place – 11 laps down – was the Toyota driver with the highest finish

Burton won in double overtime for Jordan Anderson Racing, which took its first career win as Burton crossed the finish line.
