If the transfer goes through, Lukaku will be reunited with former Inter manager Antonio Conte

If the transfer goes ahead, Lukaku will be reunited with Antonio Conte, under whom he previously worked at Inter.

In the 2020–21 season, Lukaku scored 24 league goals as Conte’s Inter won the Serie A title. Lukaku had also scored 23 times in the league the previous season.

Lukaku, who returned to Chelsea in 2021, will soon see his second spell with the Blues come to an end.

He also played for Everton and Manchester United and was a regular at Inter for a while.

Chelsea remain in talks with Napoli over Victor Osimhen in separate deal with Lukaku

Chelsea are keen to offload even more players as they look to reduce the number of players in their squad.

Chelsea are still in talks with Napoli over the potential arrival of Victor Osimhen, which could be a separate deal to the Lukaku transfer.

Osimhen boasts an impressive record of 76 goals in 133 games for Napoli, but was not involved in Conte’s side’s 3-0 defeat to Hellas Verona in the opening game of the Serie A season.
