Frank Sinatra had sent his then 19-year-old daughter to greet Presley to help get publicity for his first post-army television appearance on The Frank Sinatra Timex Show: Welcome Home Elvis, which aired in May 1960.

From there, rumors of a romance between Presley, who at the time was considered the most famous man in the world, and Sinatra seemed to gain strength.

In her book Elvis and Me, Priscilla said she asked if she was intimate with Sinatra when she called him.er one day in the middle of the night.

“Elvis, but there were photographers here and reporters and they were asking me questions, and – oh, Elvis, is it true that you’re looking at Nancy Sinatra,” he asked, as reported on cheat sheet. ‘No, it’s not true that he’s dating Nancy Sinatra,’ she replied. He said the press often just “stirred up trouble, just to annoy him.”

The Don’t Be Cruel rocker went on to explain that he was just a friend of Nancy’s, later explaining what her father was like: ‘I’m appearing on her father’s show, and everything was set up for her to be here at my press conference when I returned to the United States,” he said. ‘I miss you baby, I think of you all the time.’

Nancy Sinatra would marry her first husband, Tommy Sands, in September 1960, which would last for about five years before they separated and later divorced.

As for Elvis and Priscilla, they were married in May 1967, but they also ended in divorce, which was finalized in 1973.
