Stevie Jacobson discovered her beloved Buttercup dead in her pasture on Monday

“There was no one in the pasture,” Jacobson said.

‘We looked around a bit. They must have done it from the road.”

‘Why?’ she said.

Adding, “Someone is just pure evil… is the only thing I can think of. Why would you do something like that?’

‘She didn’t want to get caught. She ran around and challenged us,” Jacobson said of Buttercup.

Buttercup is a great loss for another of Jacobson’s horses, Peanut, who is blind in one eye and was “pair bonded” with Buttercup for safety.

“She just followed Buttercup around and said, ‘Okay, where are you going? I better get there,” Jacobson explained.

According to local police, no suspects have been identified.

It comes just ten weeks after another horse was shot dead in Washington.

Delanie Greer discovered that her beloved horse LeMon had been shot and killed outside his stable in Tacoma on December 17

“Every morning I have to walk upstairs and remind myself you’re gone,” LeMon’s heartbroken owner wrote

Brandon Gerner, 41, was charged Wednesday with animal cruelty and first-degree murder

In December, horse owner Delanie Greer discovered that her beloved horse LeMon had been shot and killed outside his stable in Tacoma.

Brandon Gerner, 41, killed LeMon as a sacrifice to his friend Kody Olsen, who died after a shooting involving Pierce County police, prosecutors alleged.

“My horse was shot on my parents’ property three weeks ago,” Greer wrote on Facebook.

“Every morning I have to walk upstairs and remind myself that you’re gone,” Greer added in her heartfelt tribute to her beloved pet.

People say you didn’t deserve this, but no living being deserves what happened to you,” she added.

Greer wrote after Gerner’s arrest: “He says he did it as a sacrifice, but by your death you have linked him to another murder… even when you’re dead, you help people.”
