Myleene Klass suffered ‘nine-month ordeal at hands of stalker who sent her Catwoman suit and tried to post air gun’

An alleged stalker sent Myleene Klass a Catwoman and police officer costume and tried to mail her an air pistol during a nine-month harassment campaign, a court heard.

Peter Windsor, 60, also sent the former pop star several letters and “unwanted gifts, including shoes and jewelry,” prosecutors said.

His alleged stalking had a “significant adverse effect on Ms. Klass’ usual daily activities,” which he knew or should have known would cause her “serious alarm or distress,” according to legal documents.

Windsor is also accused of stalking Ms Klass’s colleague, Katie Breathwick, 53, a late-night presenter on Classic FM.

Prosecutors said he sent Ms Breathwick a pair of binoculars, a pair of running shoes, a bottle of champagne and a stamp collection between 2020 and 2023.

Both Ms Breathwick and Ms Klass, 46, received a series of unwanted ‘disjointed’ letters with Windsor’s address on them and which appeared to be in his handwriting, Birmingham Crown Court heard.

After assaulting Ms Breathwick for almost three years, Windsor shifted his attention to her Classic FM colleague Ms Klass, prosecutors said.

The items were said to have been sent to the radio station’s London office, although the air gun was intercepted before reaching the mother-of-three, the court heard.

Neither Ms Breathwick nor Ms Klass – who found fame in the pop group Hear’Say, created by reality series Popstars in 2001 – attended the brief hearing last month.

Windsor, from Stechford, Birmingham, appeared on a video link from prison where he is on remand.

Lawyer Phil Brunt successfully applied for a postponement. He has yet to enter a plea to two counts of causing serious alarm by stalking, but a trial is scheduled for March.

Hear’Say had one of the best-selling debut singles of all time with their 2001 hit Pure & Simple, which sold 550,000 copies in its first week of release, becoming the first of two UK No. 1s for the group.

But their success was short-lived and the group disbanded after 18 months.

Classically trained musician Ms Klass came second on I’m a Celebrity four years later, with scenes of the star showering in a white bikini becoming an enduring image for the series.

The bikini was later sold at a charity auction, raising £7,500.

Last year, Ms Klass won an ‘all stars’ version of the show set in South Africa and became the first ‘I’m a Celebrity Legend’. In addition to her work at Classic FM, she is a panelist on ITV’s Loose Women.

Ms Klass is in a long-term relationship with Simon Motson with whom she has a son, born in 2019. Ms Breathwick, who is married to the creator of the

BBC series Death In Paradise Robert Thorogood has worked at Classic FM since 2008.
