One man opened up about the awkward situation he found himself in after his sister asked him to be her sperm donor, then was furious when he said no.
The man, believed to be from the US, explained the situation in a Reddit post, explaining in the Am I The A**hole subthread that his sister is his only sibling, and that she and her wife want to get pregnant be done with the help of a sperm donor.
“(My) sister has PCOS and her wife has no brothers, so they asked me to provide the sperm to implant in her wife,” the man explained in the post.

“They said it would all be out in the open with lawyers and stuff, and I wouldn't have any obligations, it would be just like my niece/nephew,” he continued.
While the situation was fine legally, the Reddit poser admitted that it made him feel “incredibly uncomfortable” morally.
“Honestly, it creeps me out that they even ask,” he wrote in the post.
“I don't know if I want children, but if I do, I'm not so sure any future wife would be okay with me having a biological child, and neither am I,” he said.
He went on to say that he had said “no” and explained that it made him feel uncomfortable, but added that his sister and her wife had asked him several times to reconsider.
“The last time I told her honestly, the answer was no and I find it very creepy,” he continued. 'Her wife then tried to call, but I hung up and blocked her number.'
“I haven't blocked my sister, but I don't answer her calls and her last text called me an asshole, among other things,” he said.
Commentators were divided over who was wrong. Some said if he finds it creepy that's a good reason not to donate his sperm, while others didn't see the problem.

“Whether it's common or not, it's creepy to the original poster, so yes, it's creepy. Again, it's subjective,” one user wrote.
“The fact that it would mean the sister getting as close as possible to her own child doesn't mean that OP might find the idea of her asking him creepy, or the very act of HIM donating HIS Sperm to someone creepy. It is a completely normal reaction from him,” they wrote.
“This guy doesn't fuck with anyone, and incest isn't a problem, and at least one person in the couple will have a biological connection to the child. I definitely understand why they asked,” another commented.
Another agreed, saying the fact they were “pushy” makes them wrong.
'But personally? I think OP is weird because they think it's creepy and don't understand why they would want that,” the Reddit user added.
Some suggested that the Reddit poster's sister wanted him to donate so that some of their side of the family's DNA would be passed on.
'I wonder if they are so persistent because the sister would love to have a child of her own, with her DNA, but can't because of her PCOS, and she thinks the next best thing would be her brother's child ', says the spokesperson. suggested.
'It's actually a mix of her family's and her partners'. It's about as close as same-sex couples can get to “having a child together.”
“Whether that's the case or not, he is absolutely NOT obligated to donate. They are acting very pushy,” another commented.
