The 41-year-old man was charged with two counts of attempted murder after a man and a woman, both 40, were allegedly attacked at a house on Coventry Road in Munno Para at around 6.30pm on Friday evening.

It is understood the man was the ex-partner of the woman who had just arrived at her mother’s home with her two children and her new partner.

One neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, was shocked by the scene.

“When I got home, all I saw was people holding someone against the fence… and there were bloodstains on the floor,” she said The advertiser.

“There was a lot of screaming and crying, so I ran outside and called the police and the man was held until the police came to arrest him.”
