Katie Price ‘skipped High Court hearing to fly to Cyprus with boyfriend JJ Slater’ as she faces threat of arrest

Katie Price was reportedly unable to attend court on Friday because she decided to go on holiday with her boyfriend JJ Slater.

The former glamor model, 45, has been declared bankrupt for a second time after failing to pay more than £750,000 in unpaid tax – and will now face the loss of her home unless HMRC can get the money back.

She was scheduled to testify at the Supreme Court today about her finances. However, at the start of the hearing, attorneys said Price told them at the last minute that she could not attend due to health problems. A judge described this excuse as ‘scanty’.

According to The sunKatie has now left the UK and was spotted at the airport with Married At First Sight star JJ.

A source said: ‘Katie and JJ are on holiday in Cyprus. They looked very much in love at the airport before leaving together.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Katie Price for comment.

The reality star is now faced the threat of arrest by the police after she failed to attend a court hearing regarding her bankruptcy.

The court heard it belonged to Katie personal assistant had sent a statement from a consultant psychiatrist stating that she suffered from anxiety and depression, as well as other problems affecting her mental health.

Lawyers for the trustees in Katie’s first bankruptcy asked the judge to order her attendance at a future hearing, saying she should be “notified” that she could be arrested if she did not attend.

Darragh Connell, representing the liquidators, told the court: ‘It is important that she is aware that this is a possibility.’

In written submissions he said: ‘The defendant should be in no doubt that any future absence without a reasonable excuse will constitute contempt of court and necessitate an application for a warrant of arrest against her.

‘As with any other litigant, the defendant must comply with the orders of the Insolvency and Companies Court or face serious consequences.’

Mr Connell said Katie had known about the hearing for ‘quite some time’ and her evidence was ‘simply not good enough’.

He said: ‘It is clear that the evidence submitted very late is of a very, very unsatisfactory nature and as a result we find ourselves in a very serious situation.

‘In these circumstances there is great concern among the trustees that what is happening here is an eleventh-hour attempt to kick things into the long grass and that must not be allowed to happen.’

Judge Mark Mullen of the Insolvency and Companies Court said “similarly brief” letters had been sent before previous hearings, which Ms Price also did not attend.

While describing the court as “sympathetic” to people with health problems, he said: “There has been a consistent pattern of last-minute postponements of hearings based on scant medical evidence.

“This cannot continue on such an unsatisfactory basis.”

Judge Mullen ordered that Katie attend the next hearing unless she provided a reasonable excuse, and that she provide medical information so that adjustments could be made to ‘facilitate’ her testimony.

He said: “It is a fact that those who fail to attend public examinations without a reasonable excuse are likely to be arrested.

‘It is important that Ms Price is not under the illusion that she, like any other bankrupt, will be expected to attend unless there are reasonable reasons why she should be excused.’

Alex Reid, Katie’s former partner, attended the hearing. The former glamor model owes him £250,000 plus legal costs following a court ruling in 2019.

Katie allegedly shared sexual videos and photos of the former cage fighter, 48. Alex sued his ex-wife for “disseminating private information – some of it of a sexual nature,” which he said “violated his right to privacy.”

Debt collectors were photographed outside her ‘dirty mansion’ earlier this year in an attempt to collect the money.

Last month, a High Court judge ruled that she was declared bankrupt after an HMRC official said she had failed to pay the money owed or respond to any correspondence since the demand for the unpaid tax last year.

It is the second bankruptcy Katie has faced as she is pursued by creditors for a £3.2 million payment over the collapse of her company Jordan Trading Ltd, which sells perfume and cosmetics.

Judge Sebastion Prentis, sitting in the Rolls Building of the High Court, said Katie had received an application on November 27, 2023, claiming £761,994.05.

The amount consists of unpaid tax from the self-declaration on her income from the period 2020 to 2022 and fines and surcharges.

The judge said she also owed £140,000 in unpaid VAT, adding: ‘As with the unpaid tax, no payment has been made.’

Katie earlier revealed that she felt unable to go to court to discuss her finances.

She told The Mail’s comedy podcast exclusively last month: ‘I just can’t cope with going to court. Mentally I can’t do it.’

Katie continued, explaining, “Since my breakdown. When you are sick and depressed, everything piles up.

‘If you can’t deal with something or haven’t paid the bill. Communicate, don’t ignore it because ignoring it will only make things worse.

“It upsets me because they don’t know how hard I tried mentally to get out of the rut I was in. A rut in which I hanged myself and thought I was dead.’

Katie received papers from HMRC in October informing her of the debt owed – and she has not responded to the demand.

The judge said: ‘There is a significant debt owed by Miss Price to HMRC and I will therefore declare bankruptcy.’

Katie first went bankrupt in 2019 when her company went bankrupt.

She has failed to appear at an insolvency hearing six times, with the model providing an excuse for her no-show each time.

An HMRC source said every effort will be made to recover the money and if payment is not made, Katie’s assets will be seized.

It comes just weeks after Katie was fined £880 after she was caught driving a Range Rover at a petrol station on the A14 in Kettering, Northamptonshire, in August 2023, despite having no driving license or insurance.

She was given eight penalty points and was also ordered to pay £972 in costs in addition to the financial penalty.
