“Shower doors will be the death of me,” the mother wrote.
“I was ready to buy a new screen until today I used a blade to scrape off the soap scum after my usual magic eraser trick just wouldn’t cut it and I literally can’t believe my eyes.”
The woman said she was hesitant to use the blade because she thought it might scratch the glass, however the screen was unscathed as she “barely had to apply pressure” to scrape off the grime.
He added that he used no water on the blade or glass and that the process took “literally five minutes.”
“I still have to go over it with a cleaner to polish it up, but it already looks 100 times better,” he said.
‘Forget spending a fortune on chemicals, get yourself a blade!’
Group members in the comments were impressed by the “satisfying” hack that one woman said was a “game changer,” while others shared their own tricks for cleaning shower screens with soap.

‘I do this all the time. The only thing that works,’ said one mother.
‘I’m a cleaner and I use this. This and a bottle of Aldi floor cleaner with halo and it comes out sparkling,” one cleaner recommended.
“I tried the vinegar and dish detergent on the dish rod yesterday and it was amazing, I didn’t even have to scrub,” another woman said.
Many suggested switching from soap to shower gel as it doesn’t leave as much residue, while others said to squeegee the shower screen after every shower.
‘We switched to body wash five years ago, very little scum left on the tiles. I won’t go back to bar soap,’ said one woman.
“To stop soap scum buildup, use shower gel to shower, NOT soap,” a second agreed.
A third responded: “You can still use soap as long as you clean the glass after every shower.”
‘I started using a squeegee eight weeks ago and haven’t had to clean glass since. It literally takes me a minute.
