YouTube star MrBeast’s sidekick Chris Tyson has joined the latest social media trend, sharing “then and now” photos of himself months after starting hormone replacement therapy.
In a Twitter post on Monday, 26-year-old Tyson shared a photo of himself in 2016 when The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild video game was released, alongside a recent photo of himself after the latest release of the franchise’s Tears Of The Kingdom game last Friday.
‘Me when Breath of the Wild came from US. me when Tears of the Kingdom came out,” the YouTube star wrote on Twitter.
The two images each showed Tyson wearing a black T-shirt six years apart. MrBeast’s sidekick – who appears on the YouTube channel with 153 million subscribers – has undergone hormone treatment in recent months and now says he uses all pronouns.
The post marked the highly anticipated release of The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom on Nintendo last week, the follow-up to Breath Of The Wild, which has sold some 30 million copies worldwide.

The YouTube star has around 300,000 followers on Twitter and has regularly updated his fans since he first opened up about his transformation.
Tyson took part in the latest ‘then versus now’ Legend Of Zelda trend and shared the photos by retweeting another account that also documented their change. The retweet was the latest in a series of tweets from users showing off their changes.
Users replied to Tyson telling the internet personality that they had a “glow up.”
“Chris, you look so cute and happy. I am so very happy for you and happy that you get to do this. Congratulations honey,” said another user.
“You look really great,” said another.
A fourth replied: ‘Yippee! Chris, you look beautiful. Stay safe and stay hydrated. Keep killing.”
Tyson revealed news of his transformation in April. They wrote on social media at the time: ‘Informed consent HRT (hormone replacement therapy) saved my and many others’ lives. The hurdles of gnc (gender nonconforming) that people have to jump through to get life-saving gender-affirming health care in a 1st world country is wild to me.
“Just let people make informed decisions about their own bodies.”

HRT is a process for those who want to identify as gender nonconforming where sex hormone medication is administered to enable them to achieve a more traditional male or female appearance.
People assigned male at birth are typically prescribed estrogen because it blocks testosterone and allows people to better adjust to their gender identity.
Tyson previously revealed how their physical appearance “already started to change” after their first two months of treatment.
The star said they decided to start HRT two months ago and that aging his two-year-old son Tucker had helped his decision to begin treatment.
Tyson has the child with Katie Tyson, whom he married in June 2018. It is not clear what their exact relationship status is after the YouTuber announced his treatment.
Tyson originally came out as bisexual in November 2020. He credited his son for helping him through his treatment. The YouTuber tweeted, “If it wasn’t for this little nugget I never would have gotten this far.
“He taught me so much about myself in such a short time. I can’t wait to learn through life together.”

“HST, and it’s only been two months,” Tyson wrote in response, adding that he had been learning about gender dysmorphia for 21 years after discovering his sister’s dresses in her closet.
He added, “The amount of body positivity I’ve gotten in just two months is insane.”
