Move over Prince Louis! Prince Julian of Sweden, 3, delights with his cheeky antics at playground opening

Prince Julian of Sweden showed off his cheeky side on Monday as he wandered around a new playground named after the three-year-old royal.

And as the young prince ran ahead of his parents, slid down the slide, hid in a wooden Wendy house and stuck out his tongue, he bore a strong resemblance to feisty Prince Louis, who delighted royal fans this weekend as he visited Buckingham danced. While the third son of Princess Sofia of Sweden, 39, and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, 45, is three years younger than the Prince and Princess of Wales’ six-year-old Prince Louis, Prince Julian exuded the same boyish confidence at the playground opening at Naturum Getterön in Varberg on the west coast of Sweden.

Dressed in a miniature Ralph Lauren sweater and shorts, the Swedish prince ran into the playground after the banner was cut.

His amused parents watched and encouraged him to clap as he tried out the different activities.

Prince Julian proved himself to be both a curious child and a natural performer, looking through a huge telescope and grabbing a microphone in the playground’s bandstand.

As he smiled broadly, made faces and stuck out his tongue, Prince Julian’s cheerful and somewhat cheeky character came to the fore.

Watching the expressive young royal perform enthusiastically, royal fans will no doubt be reminded of King Charles’ birthday celebration last year, when Prince Louis scrunched up his face and held out his arms to pretend to be a jetliner.

At the playground opening, Prince Sofia wore a matching floral skirt and top with white sneakers, while Prince Carl Philip swapped his trousers for casual beige chinos.

Both of Prince Julian’s parents seemed happy and relaxed as they watched their son play and help him navigate the children’s obstacle course, with Princess Sofia even sitting on the sand herself at one point.

The royal couple were photographed exploring the playground hand-in-hand with Prince Julian.

The family toured the grounds of the new playground and stopped to cut the colorful ribbon in the shades of the Swedish flag to officially open the playground.

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip share three children: Prince Alexander, seven, Prince Gabriel, six, and Prince Julian, three.
