A grieving husband has shared a heartbreaking tribute to his wife, who died suddenly while preparing for their son’s first day of preschool.

Queensland woman Lauren Watts, 40, died on Tuesday morning and is survived by her husband Drew Duncan and their children Olivia, Will, Jimmy and Jude.

The exact circumstances surrounding his tragic death have yet to be revealed by the family.

“My love, my partner in life, my partner in crime (before the kids were born) and an amazing mom to our kids,” Duncan wrote in an open letter Wednesday.

Ms Watts studied a double degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery while also juggling success as a mother.

You were the heart of our family and you kept it beating with your love. Unfortunately I think you must have used all your own beats with everyone else,” Duncan wrote.

“You kept fighting for the best for all of us when the bullshit cards kept being dealt our way.”

Your passion showed in everything you did. You always put everyone before yourself. You worked harder than anyone should have to bring our family, your career, and our life together.

‘We had more challenges than most, and we faced them together… I love you baby. Forever and ever.’

A GoFundMe it has been installed by a friend of Mrs. Watts to help support the family.

‘Drew and Lauren spent their entire lives together and made a wonderful family. They stood together in the face of everything the world could throw at them,’ said his friend Jacq Lawson.

‘She never stopped smiling and laughing. All who met her felt her caring spirit for her.’

‘Drew not only lost his partner, but all four of his young children lost their wonderful mother. The world is a little less sunny without your light here.’

Duncan said his wife (pictured) was the heart of their young family and she would be greatly missed.

Ms Lawson explained that the funds raised would go towards funeral costs and bills as the young family recovers.

Tributes have been flooding online for Ms. Watts.

“Lauren touched so many people with her strength and vitality,” one person wrote.

“I studied with Lauren and have only good memories of her,” said another.

“A truly beautiful soul taken too soon,” added a third.

“She was a beautiful light and will be sorely missed,” said a fourth.
