Darwin military vehicle crash: Six injured after overturning near downtown Howard Springs

Six soldiers have been injured after a vehicle flipped over in the Northern Territory.

The vehicle was carrying seven passengers before crashing in Howard Springs, Darwin at around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Three passengers were seriously injured in the crash, while the three others walked away with minor injuries.

Northern Territory Police confirmed that both police and an ambulance had been called to the scene of the accident.

“The case is being investigated by the Ministry of Defense and the police will assist with investigations where necessary,” read a statement from the NT police.

It marks the latest casualty during military exercises after a plane crash killed three US Marines on August 27.

The Boeing MV-22B Osprey, with 23 people on board, crashed on Melville Island in the Tiwi Islands, off the north coast of Darwin.
