Miley Cyrus once playfully SLAPPED Flavor Flav’s face for calling her Gwen Stefani: ‘We laughed it off’

Flavor Flav’s first meeting with Miley Cyrus at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in 2012 did not go well, as he accidentally mistook her for Gwen Stefani.

The Public Enemy rap legend – who turns 65 next month – couldn’t tell the difference between the beautiful platinum blonde singers, despite Miley being 19 at the time and Gwen 42.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so stupid,'” Flav (born William Drayton Jr.) admitted on Just B with Bethenny Frankel last Thursday.

‘Hit me in the face. She hit me in the face. Miley Cyrus punched Flavor Flav in the face and I said, “I won’t let it happen again. We laughed about it.”

So when the hip-hop hype man ran into the 31-year-old pop star backstage at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 4, they hugged him after he shouted her correct name.

‘You know it’s me! I made it!’ Miley exclaimed at LA’s Crypto.com Arena.

“You don’t think I’m Gwen Stefani anymore. Every time I saw you you called me Gwen.”

“I know,” Flav admitted, to which Cyrus assured him in response, “I love it.”

The pair then exchanged “I love yous,” before she gestured to Flav’s signature clock necklace and said, “You know what time it is!”

The Grammy Lifetime Achievement winner uploaded the encounter to Instagram with the cheeky caption referencing the Flowers hitmaker’s first Grammy win: “My girl Gwen Stefani… I mean MILEY CYRUS, give my girl her flowers!”

Flav will next portray a mysterious character in Cinzia Angelini and David Feiss’ animated film Hitpig, which hits UK theaters on April 19, alongside Rainn Wilson, RuPaul, Anitta, Hannah Gadsby and Lilly Singh.

The Used to Be Young singer has a cameo as groupie artist Tiffany Plastercaster in Focus Features’ road trip comedy Drive-Away Dolls, which opened in US theaters last Friday and UK theaters on March 15.

Ethan Coen’s solo feature debut will also star Margaret Qualley, Pedro Pascal, Matt Damon, Beanie Feldstein and Geraldine Viswanathan.
