Tyson Fury dined with Mike Tyson in Saudi Arabia ahead of his brother’s fight with Jake Paul on Sunday.
Tommy Fury and Paul, the boxer-turned-YouTuber, are finally ready to go head-to-head in Diriyah, with the runways kicking off around 9:30 p.m.
In the build up to the anticipated fight, ‘Iron Mike’ posted images on Instagram of him dining with the Gypsy King.
The pair seemed in high spirits, laughing and joking, before taking part in the evening entertainment which featured Tyson waving a sword, while Fury was seen beating a drum.
It comes after the boxing great praised WBC heavyweight champion Fury, who he predicts will be “the champion for a long time.”
Mike Tyson, who is in Saudi Arabia for Tommy Fury’s fight with Jake Paul, predicts Tyson Fury will be ‘a long time champion’
The Gypsy King is set to fight Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley in April, but has not been officially signed as of yet.
The two heavyweights will put their unbeaten records on the line in a highly anticipated fight as Fury attempts to become the first undisputed heavyweight since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
Talking about Fury’s legacy to talk sport, ‘Iron Mike’ said: ‘Tyson Fury has proven time and time again that he is the best. I respect Deontay Wilder and Oleksandr Usyk, but who do I respect more?
“Tyson Fury is the champion, he is the reigning champion, and he will be the champion for a long time if he wants to. That’s right, unless he comes up with a new guy.
‘Joe Joyce is an enduring tough guy, but he’s not going to [take Fury’s title]. No one around can do it yet. I don’t think anyone is too small. [to beat Fury].’
Despite Fury’s notable size advantage over Usyk, Tyson doesn’t think it’s the Ukrainian’s downfall.
Tyson also believes that Fury will not have the same problems that Anthony Joshua had when he fought Oleksandr Usyk.
‘I never believe that anyone is too small. I just think that Tyson is not going to do what Anthony Joshua [did]’, he added. “I think he’s just going to go out there and put a lot of pressure on him.”
The sports world is desperate for the Fury and Usyk fight to go ahead, but The Sun reports that it risks collapsing over the Gypsy King’s demands.
Fury is understood to be unhappy about having to split the pot evenly with Usyk when the fight was scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia.
However, the 34-year-old heavyweight can now command a bigger division from a smaller purse with the fight scheduled to take place at Wembley, with the showdown expected to take place on April 29.
