A 50-year-old woman has opened up about her “year of fun” sleeping with a dozen men after separating from her husband, the only man she’d ever had sex with.
Kate Harvey was married to her husband for 25 years and the couple raised three children together in Melbourne.
But months before the Covid pandemic hit, Ms. Harvey found out he was having an affair.
After two and a half years dealing with the trauma of the marriage breakup and supporting her children, Ms Harvey was ready to get back on the horse and now suspects she has had as many as 12 intimate partners since January last year. has had.
“I stopped counting after a while,” she said on SBS Insight.
While some of her “friends with benefits” came through dating apps, she’s met others in real life.
“The youngest I’ve slept with was 28 and the oldest was 48,” said Ms. Harvey.
“My sweet spot is 38 to 44 (years).”
Ms Harvey, who works as an entrepreneur, writer and part-time actor, said sex and sexuality were ‘not a priority’ for her growing up.

She said that while her sexual relationship with her husband was “fun and fulfilling at times,” she now focused on things she wanted to explore.
“Things like rough play and roleplay and using more toys and all these things, which is a hard conversation to have with someone you’re in a long-term relationship with,” she said.
“The younger guys are pretty fit, so they can pick you up and push you against the wall and throw you on the bed.
“In my personal and professional life, I’m the one in charge, so it’s wonderful to give up that control and just be controlled and dominated.”
Ms Harvey said she has lost interest in pursuing a long-term monogamous relationship.
