Michelle Obama has been criticized for her hypocrisy after the former First Lady, who is worth more than $70 million, lectured Americans about “taking more than they need.”
Obama’s speech, which thrilled the raucous, liberal audience at the Democratic National Convention, was partly a tribute to her mother, Mary Robinson.
She said of her mother: ‘She and my father did not aspire to be rich. In fact, they were suspicious of people who took more than they needed. They understood that it was not enough for their children to thrive when everyone around us was drowning. So my mother became a volunteer at the local school.’
