It comes after Mark reportedly contacted ITV after being left fuming when he was mentioned in recent X-rated TOWIE scenes with ex Laureen Goodger – as insiders hit back.

The TV personality, who was an original cast member of the show before quitting after three series in 2011, is said to be annoyed and not want any association with the show that made his name.

Lauren, 37, dated childhood sweetheart Mark for more than a decade before publicly splitting after a brief engagement in 2011 and returned to TOWIE in March after a seven-year absence.

During an on-camera chat with Amy Childs, 33, Lauren discussed getting Mark’s name tattooed in an intimate space, leaving Mark furious.

During the exchange, Amy recalled, ‘I remember watching you spray tan and saying, “Oh my god, she has ‘Mark’ on her afternoon”‘.

Before Lauren confirmed she had the tattoo removed.

A source said The sun: ‘Mark doesn’t want to be associated with TOWIE at all these days, and hates his name being mentioned on the show – especially when it has to do with his relationship with Lauren.’

‘A member of his team contacted TOWIE producers to remind them that he did not want to be discussed or featured on the show, so they could not continue to dredge up the past.

Before adding: ‘Bosses were quite amused because ultimately Mark wouldn’t be where he is today without the show and a big part of that was his messy love life.’

They also claimed that Mark, who now presents his own show on Heart FM, was annoyed with Amy for bringing up the inking and said he was convinced she had only done it to ‘excite him’.

MailOnline has contacted Mark and ITV for comment.

Meanwhile, Lauren and Amy’s rep declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.
