After more than a decade on the market, Michael Jordan’s 32,000-square-foot mansion in Highland Park, Illinois has finally sold for a dramatically lower price.
As first reported by Bloombergclosed the property for $9.5 million after first listing it at $29 million. That represents a 67 percent reduction for real estate in Chicago’s northern suburbs, bordering Lake Michigan.
Reports of an agreement first surfaced in September.
Amenities for the mansion include nine bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, a cigar room, a library, an indoor gym, a circular infinity pool, a basketball court, a tennis court and an iconic front gate bearing the number 23.
In retirement, Jordan has lived primarily in his native North Carolina, although he spent the summer with his wife, Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto, aboard a yacht in the Mediterranean.
Jordan ended his 13-year reign as Hornets owner by transferring his majority stake in the franchise to a group led by Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin in August 2023.
