Micah Richards jokingly fumes at David Silva after the Man City legend appears at the Etihad without telling his former team-mate and Sky pundit

Micah Richards joked with his former Manchester City teammate David Silva on Saturday evening.

The pair were colleagues at Etihad for five years before Richards, now a Sky Sports pundit, left Man City for Aston Villa in 2015.

Silva and his family were guests of honor before the club’s 5-1 win over Wolves on Saturday night, but no one informed Richards that the 38-year-old was returning to Manchester.

Richards told Sky Sports: ‘Everything about him was so extraordinary. I’m so happy to see him again.

“But he didn’t text me, so I’ll text him later.”

Silva won four Premier League titles with the club, made 436 appearances and scored 77 times for Manchester City between 2010 and 2020.

Richards said: “What a legend. I think he came in 2010, and from the first training you could just see how good he was technically.

“The best thing about him was he was just a nice guy. Fits perfectly in the dressing room. And what a player he was.

‘To [Kevin] De Bruyne, he was my favorite, him and Yaya Toure. Urban legends of the modern era.’

Jamie Carragher added: “Couldn’t get the ball off him in a phone box, could you? It felt like tight feet. Nice. Astonishing.’
