John Daly withdraws from the PGA Championship due to a thumb injury after carding an 11-over first round

Former PGA Championship winner John Daly has withdrawn from this year’s tournament in Valhalla due to a thumb injury, according to an official press release.

Daly was scheduled to tee off at 3:17 this afternoon before it was announced that he would be dropping out.

It was a tough first day of the tournament for the 1991 PGA Championship winner after shooting an eleven-over-par 82 for his first round.
