An Uber driver was killed by passengers during a robbery streamed live on TikTok in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juárez.
Jesús Díaz, known on the social media platform as “Rafa Wayne,” was shot dead on Tuesday.
Díaz picked up two passengers via the ride-share app and pulled the vehicle over when one of the suspects brandished a weapon. One of Díaz's followers recorded the broadcast and captured the moment an attacker ordered him to hand over his money.
“All the money,” the suspect said before Díaz responded, “What money?” Go away, go away.'
Another suspect was heard telling his accomplice: “Go away.”

The suspect who demanded Díaz to hand over his money then told him, “Give me your damn phone and the password, man.”
A struggle ensued inside the vehicle before the recording was interrupted.
Some of Díaz's fellow Uber drivers rushed to the scene and found him dead in the car.
Authorities located the two male suspects, an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old, several hours later drinking in public with two adult men, ages 24 and 32, and a 16-year-old boy. them in custody.
They also found a 9mm weapon and drugs.
Some suspects were interrogated at a police station and pinned the murder on each other.
It is unknown if the weapon recovered during the arrest was the same weapon used to kill Rafa Wayne

Díaz was known for livestreaming his adventures as an Uber driver to more than 72,000 followers on TikTok.
“There is no doubt you were amazing Rafita, we will miss you,” one TikToker wrote.
“Oh, that smile, so candid and sincere, we are really going to miss you Rafita,” another user wrote on the social media platform. 'I'm not saying goodbye, but I'm saying: goodbye, we'll meet again.'
Díaz's killing comes less than a month after the death of another Ciudad Juárez rideshare driver.
Ismael Villagomez, a full-time news photographer for the newspaper El Heraldo de Juárez who also drove in his spare time, was shot dead on November 16 after dropping off a passenger.
At least seventeen drivers have been killed in Ciudad Juárez this year.
Employees of Uber and Didi protested in front of the prosecutor's office on Tuesday, where they demanded police protection.
