One man has died and two others are fighting for life after two separate stabbings in Melbourne’s CBD overnight.

Emergency services were called to Bourke Street around 5:45 a.m. Sunday after reports of an assault.

Two men were found with stab wounds and were taken to hospital in critical condition.

One of the men, who has not yet been officially identified, later died in hospital.

The second man is still in the hospital.

Homicide Squad detectives have launched an investigation, with the exact circumstances surrounding the incident yet to be determined.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

A crime scene has been established and Bourke Street remains closed between Elizabeth Street and Queen Street.

In a separate incident about 300 meters away, two men were hospitalized after a wild brawl broke out outside the Inflation nightclub earlier Sunday morning.

Police said the men were found injured around 1.25am after a major brawl at the intersection of Flinders Lane and King Street.

A 19-year-old man with suspected serious injuries and an unknown man with life-threatening injuries were both taken to hospital.

A crime scene has been set up and the area has been cordoned off as detectives investigate the crime scene.

Officers from the Major Crime Scene Unit will also be in attendance.

Photos taken at the scene show blood smears on a car parked outside the nightclub.
