MEGHAN MCCAIN: Dems are guilty of The Great American Cover-up. And they’re about to pay the price

>

Six days away from the 2022 midterm elections, and the Democrats — by all indications — are about to pay a heavy price for ignoring politics’ main tenant: don’t lie to our faces.

Democrats thought the American people were morons.

And the people are angry.

It was a bizarre Alice in Wonderland experience to watch liberals tell ridiculous, self-righteous stories about America’s truly wretched state.

Their claims are not only blatantly false, but also misleading. And you would have to be delusional yourself to believe the untruths that were spewed from their mouths.

Call it the Great American Cover-up.

These include, but are not limited to: There is no increase in crime.

“These are masterly manipulators,” Democratic Kathy Hochul said of the Republicans. “They’ve got this conspiracy going all over America to convince people that they’re not that safe in democratic states.”

Really?

In New York City, subway violence is rampant — up from 41% in 2022, according to the NYPD.

Nationally, the annual homicide rate is 30 percent higher than in 2019, according to a New York Times analysis.

The impartial Criminal Court says aggravated assaults, robberies, burglaries, thefts and thefts of motor vehicles increased in the first half of 2022, compared to the first half of 2021.

Democrats have made it very clear what they believe should be the most important issue for voters — the Republican threat to democracy, of course.

Does that sound like a “conspiracy” to you?

How about this one: Inflation is a myth and the economy is strong?

“Inflation has fallen, real incomes have risen and gas prices have fallen,” President Joe Biden said in a speech in Syracuse, New York, last month.

He has, in all likelihood, set the worst example of a politician who treats voters as if they were stupid.

Inflation is at its worst in nearly 40 years. Real incomes – commonly known as wages – have fallen. (Again, thanks to inflation). And the price of gas has risen very clearly.

When Biden was inaugurated, the average price of a gallon was $2.39. Today it is about $3.80.

Who does he think he’s kidding?

And now, for probably my favorite lie: America’s borders are secure.

We’ve heard from the Secretary of Homeland Security, Mayorkas, and Border Czar’s Vice President Kamala Harris. Their message to Americans is: don’t believe your lying eyes.

US Customs and Border Patrol made nearly 2.4 million arrests on the southern border in 2022 — that’s by far the highest number ever recorded.

And that’s just counting the individuals who were apprehended.

CBP has reported at least 900,000 more ‘escapes’, or individuals likely to have slipped through the gaping cracks in the ‘safe’ border.

Now the outright flow of illegal immigrants to America is not just a problem of the southern border state. New York City has built tent cities to house migrants transported there by Republican governors in Florida and Texas, as well as Democratic leaders from El Paso.

At least two border police officers were injured on Tuesday when a group of Venezuelan migrants attacked officers at the US-Mexico border near El Paso.

Nationally, the annual homicide rate is 30 percent higher than in 2019, according to a New York Times analysis.

Inflation is at its worst in nearly 40 years. Real incomes – commonly known as wages – have fallen. (Again, thanks to inflation). And the price of gas has risen very clearly.

An officer was attacked with a flagpole. The second officer was hit by a rock before the migrants were driven back by shots from non-lethal pepper bells.

Does that sound ‘safe’ to you? But we’re going down the rabbit hole again.

Listen to White House propagandist Karine Jean-Pierre and you’ll hear a completely different story.

In response to 2.4 million border disputes, Jean-Pierre claimed, “You have Republican governors who use these migrants as political pawns, we are hard at work.”

Of course you are. But don’t Democrats also transport migrants to northern cities?

All the press secretaries of the administration spin, or deceive, for their party and president, but normally there is a grain of truth. In her case, it’s just “Baghdad Bob” folly.

And alas, their furious purring hasn’t worked.

A new ABC News poll found that 50 percent of Americans say either the economy or inflation is the number one issue in determining how they will vote in the 2022 midterm elections.

Suburban white women, a traditionally important part of any winning Democrats’ political campaign, have been lured to the GOP.

The Wall Street Journal reports that this voting bloc has shifted 27 percentage points from Democrats, driven by financial concerns.

Voters want to feel safe in their home, confident in their job and hopeful about the future.

It’s not that hard. And you would think that the Democrats would sit up and pay attention, stop twisting the truth and confront the very serious problems plaguing our country.

But no.

At least two border police officers were injured on Tuesday when a group of Venezuelan migrants attacked officers at the US-Mexico border near El Paso.

Democrats have made it very clear what they believe should be the most important issue for voters — the Republican threat to democracy, of course.

President Biden is now set to deliver the sequel to the “Red Wedding in Philadelphia,” as he denounced MAGA extremists as an existential threat to America.

He will deliver a speech Wednesday evening at Union Station in Washington DC to discuss “the commitment to our democracy in next week’s elections,” the DNC said.

I wonder what they do with all the homeless who regularly camped outside the terminal.

For Democrats, January 6 is forever. It’s their winning message. It’s more important than being able to feed your family, send your kid to college, pay your bills.

But encouragingly, none of this has made it to Americans outside the narrow base of far-left Democrats. In fact it has flattened out.

According to election experts at RealClearPolitics, the GOP is expected to flip four senate seats from Democratic-blue to Republican-red. In fact, the Democrats are predicted not to make a profit, giving Republicans solid control over Congress.

It is a red wave and crashes on November 8.

Now no one can predict the future, but let’s just say I cook chili and have friends to watch the election return.

No amount of fear of the future of democracy can lead Americans to overlook problems of crime, immigration, and most importantly, the economy.

What more can you say?

Reality bites and it looks like voters are about to bite back hard on the party that ignored reality.
