Maxima’s mini-me! Princess Alexia of the Netherlands, 18, is the twin of her mother as she attends King’s Day celebrations with Dutch royals

Princess Alexia of the Netherlands was elegant in a cream and orange ensemble as she attended the country’s King’s Day celebrations with her family today.

The 18-year-old royal, who is second in line to the Dutch throne after her sister Princess Catharina-Amalia, joined her parents Queen Máxima and King Willem-Alexander and her two sisters in Emmen.

The annual festivities celebrate the birthday of King Willem-Alexander, who turns 57 today, but it was the young princess who was in the spotlight on Saturday.

Alexia, who was with her 20-year-old sister Amalia and 17-year-old Ariane, stunned in a fitted cream dress, which she wore with a burnt orange overcoat and heels.

The princess wore her dark brown hair loose and slightly curled, while her makeup was flawless for the family outing in the Northern Netherlands.

Alexia graduated from UWC Atlantic College in South Wales in May last year, with her parents traveling to the prestigious school to celebrate.

The school is often referred to as ‘Hippie Hogwarts’ due to its progressive approach to education and its picturesque castle setting, often attended by European monarchs.

Queen Máxima also dressed to impress today, in an olive green dress and a striking headpiece, with a number of delicate butterflies on a band.

The queen also wore a pair of pearl earrings and kept her makeup simple.

The family walked a route through the city, collected floral gifts and greeted spectators who had gathered to wish the royal family good luck on King’s Day.

Her three daughters were just as chic, with the eldest and heir to the Dutch throne also choosing to wear green. Amalia went for a blue-green shade, also with a floral pattern.

She wore a matching overcoat to protect herself from the cold weather, and she kept her blonde hair loosely curled and down around her shoulders.

King Willem-Alexander also dressed to impress in a deep blue suit and yellow tie.

The festivities in the Netherlands celebrate the king’s birthday – who turns 57 today.

The celebrations start the night before, when people dress up in orange and take to the streets and canals.

The main party takes place in Amsterdam, while Rotterdam hosts the second largest party. Smaller gatherings take place throughout the country.

Queen Máxima attended the King’s Games in Hoofddorp yesterday – where she was a hit with the children.

The Dutch queen, 52, and her husband, King Willem-Alexander, were in good spirits as they met students from KBS Klippeholm and CBS Vesterhave.

The royals were received enthusiastically by the primary school students – and they seemed particularly excited when they saw Máxima giving them a high five in their classrooms.

The mother-of-three was also pictured sitting at the lunch tables with the students as they snacked on sandwiches, fruit and water in the school canteen.

Elsewhere, the King and Queen stepped outside to observe what appeared to be an exciting friendly game of football.

For the event, the Argentine-born royal wore a pair of high-waisted chocolate brown culottes, which served to accentuate her curvaceous figure.

Maxima paired the look with a gray high-neck sweater and brown leather boots, while for outdoors she opted for a long gray overcoat.

A pair of silver metal earrings were the perfect accessory, although she opted to forgo a handbag on this occasion.

For her hair, the royal’s luscious blonde locks were tied down and adorned only with a center parting.

Her makeup was as subtle as it was striking, with a streak of black eyeliner and a pink lip to complete the look.

Meanwhile, her husband, the King, looked dapper in a royal blue suit which he wore with a crisp white shirt and orange tie.

His outfit was a bold statement of national pride as it represented the colors of the Dutch flag, but was also synonymous with King’s Day.
