Max George prepared to reunite with his girlfriend Maisie Smith on Christmas Eve as he finally returned home after being released from hospital following emergency heart surgery.
Earlier this month The Wanted singer, 36, revealed that he was in hospital after being forced to seek medical attention due to an undiagnosed heart condition.
He later revealed that he had to stay in hospital due to persistent heart problems and underwent serious surgery after his condition failed to improve.
On Tuesday he told how he had been sacked and admitted he was ‘bruised and battered’ before Christmas Day.
And later on Christmas Eve, he went to his Story with another recording and said, “Merry Christmas everyone!
‘I just wanted to say that I’m back home and waiting for my beautiful girlfriend to arrive at some point. Best gift ever – thanks for the love.’

Earlier this week it was revealed that Maisie, 23, would be making a 500 mile journey to see him at Christmas.
Earlier on Christmas Eve he said: ‘It’s time to go home. The numbers are much better. I feel exhausted, I slept a lot today.’
But Max revealed he is not completely out of the woods yet as doctors plan to do more tests in the coming weeks after discovering a problem with his lungs.
‘A few more tests need to be done in the coming weeks. It has something to do with my lungs, but that’s the least of my worries right now.
“All good, a little battered and bruised and broken, but,” he added, giving the camera a thumbs up.
It comes after Max revealed he would undergo open heart surgery to have a pacemaker fitted.
After doctors carried out further tests, Max revealed that he will have to get a device that stops the heart beating too slowly after they discovered a problem with the ‘lower part of his heart’.
He pointed to his chest and said, “So the latest thing is I’m 100 percent going to have a little friend posted here at some point.

‘Um, I have a problem with the lower part of my heart, it’s called a blockage. The tricky part is what I put in there because until I have further tests we don’t know what caused it.’
The Glad You Came hitmaker noted that it’s all a “mystery” as to what happened to him, although doctors have been able to eliminate some possible causes.
Max, who has previously battled alcoholism, said: ‘We’ve cut out a few things, like alcohol. I haven’t had a drink in four and a half years, so that’s not it.
‘It’s actually a bit of a mystery, but that’s the tricky part. It’s the waiting. My heart rate is really low. They keep an eye on it 24/7, everyone has been great.
‘But the waiting is hard. Unfortunately, it’s just one of those things. Whatever I get, I have to keep doing it. We hope that a pacemaker is a good pacemaker.’
In another recent excerpt from his well-documented hospital chronicles, the singer shared that he had a “tough day” in the hospital.
He said: ‘I’ve had a bit of a rough day today.
‘My heart rate dropped this morning, which was a bit scary. But everyone here is great and they’ve managed to get it going again a little bit and get it stable again, which is great.
“A lot of friends and family ask why I don’t just go in and have something done, but there are so many tests to be done before we do anything.”
‘I just have to wait until next week and have all the tests done, then they will know exactly what to do.’
Max concluded his message by saying he is determined to stay positive amid the ordeal.
He said: ‘It’s clear they can do something, but it’s better to do it with all the information they need. But yea, it’s s****. But still here and staying positive.”
In his first post on Instagram, Max revealed he would be spending Christmas in hospital.
He wrote on Instagram: ‘Yesterday I felt very unwell and was taken to hospital. Unfortunately, after some tests they discovered that I have problems with my heart.
‘I have many more tests to determine the extent of the problems and what surgery I will need to get back on my feet.
Max has been in a relationship with EastEnders star Maisie since 2022 (seen together)
‘It’s going to be a tough few weeks/months… and Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t exactly what I had planned!
‘But as always, I am surrounded by love and support from my amazing partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends… and I am 100% in the best place.
‘While this is a huge shock and undoubtedly a setback, it is something I will face with everything I have! I consider myself very lucky that this was caught when it did.
‘Apologies if I bore you with updates in the coming weeks. I’ve probably been in bed for a month and there’s not much to do!’
