Matthew Broderick appears to run a red light and cycle past warning sign while on solo bike ride in London

Matthew Broderick was apparently spotted running a red light while cycling in London in February.

The actor, 61, was spotted driving over a Lime e-bike before his daily ride, when he appeared to cycle right past a warning sign.

The Ferris Bueller’s Day Off star looked casual in a black zip-up sweater, paired with dark jeans and sneakers.

He ensured his own safety with a white helmet, while shielding his eyes behind dark sunglasses.

But Matthew was apparently less concerned about adhering to road safety rules as he appeared to ignore a temporary traffic light at a busy intersection.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Matthew Broderick for comment.

Matthew was previously charged with manslaughter by dangerous driving following a fatal car crash in 1987.

He had been driving with his then girlfriend Jennifer Gray outside Tempo, Northern Ireland, while on holiday.

Matthew was behind the wheel of a BMW they had rented when he veered into the wrong lane and collided head-on with another car.

The driver, Anna Gallagher, 28, and her mother, Margaret Doherty, 63, were both killed instantly.

He suffered a broken leg and ribs, a concussion and a collapsed lung, while Jennifer suffered severe whiplash, which later required surgery to prevent paralysis.

Matthew was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, which carries a prison sentence of up to five years.

Sarah and Matthew were set to star together for the first time in Plaza Suite at Broadway’s Hudson Theater beginning in March 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of Broadway houses.

Ultimately, after the pandemic subsided, the couple reset their commitment to perform the play in March 2021.

In April 2022, the production temporarily halted performances after both Matthew and Sarah tested positive for COVID-19.

Considered a limited run, this latest revival at the Savoy Theater opened on January 17 and was recently extended until April 13.

The play, originally performed at Broadway’s Plymouth Theater in 1968, features the two world-class actors playing three different couples in one famous hotel room.

The play is set in suite 719 of the Plaza Hotel in New York, and the production’s website states: ‘A wonderfully witty exploration of love and marriage, Plaza Suite captivated New York City audiences with its charm and star-studded cast…

‘Now, from January 2024, London’s West End will have the chance to see two world-class performers and Hollywood icons transform into three unique couples, each entangled in hilariously bizarre situations within the walls of the legendary Plaza Suite hotel room. ‘
