MasterChef Australia star Poh Ling Yeow took her fans on a trip down memory lane on Friday by taking them through her favorite Instagram selfies.

The 49-year-old chef was the guest star on 9Honey’s Best Selfie series and told viewers the story behind her popular social media snaps.

The Snackmasters host joked that looking at her old photos was a bittersweet experience because she got “really nervous.”

A photo she adored showed a nervous-looking Poh with a brush between her teeth as she put the finishing touches on a mural she had been working on.

She said the reason for her untidy appearance was that she “ate from a stainless steel bowl and drank water from a glass measuring cup.”

Poh then got emotional when she discussed a precious photo of her in a staring contest with her mother.

‘That’s my favorite picture of me and Mom. Super close, we are so similar that we often bump heads,” she said.

She then said that social media was “very important” to her, as it is “a way to share what you do in life without getting too in-your-face.”

Poh rose to fame in season one of MasterChef in 2009 and it’s no stranger to seeing her unusual life in the headlines.

She was previously married to filmmaker Matt Phipps before divorcing in 1999.

However, the couple has maintained a close friendship with her ex over the years – despite him later marrying her best friend Sarah Rich.

The relationship between Poh and Matt is so strong that they currently co-own Jamface Cafe in Adelaide Central Market.

Earlier this week, Poh was announced as a cast member for Nine’s upcoming Lego Masters two-part ‘Brickmas’ special, alongside soap star Lincoln Lewis and ex-Wiggle Emma Watkins.
