Several Manchester United stars made their final trip to Monaco for the Formula 1 Grand Prix after celebrating their FA Cup title win over Man City well into the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mason Mount was among those who arrived at the Monte Carlo circuit on Sunday and was decked out in an almost all-white ensemble as he was invited to the most glamorous race of the year as a guest of Red Bull.

But it was not one of his Man United colleagues that Mount was joined in the paddock, as he attended the event with his former Chelsea colleague Ben Chilwell.

The pair have remained close friends since Mount left Stamford Bridge for a £60million move to Old Trafford last summer and appeared to be enjoying themselves in the sweltering Monaco sun.

Both Mount and Chilwell are now at the start of their post-season break, with neither selected as part of Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad ahead of the upcoming European Championship.

Mount has endured a difficult first season at United – where he was given the club’s legendary number 7 shirt upon joining – struggling with numerous injuries and making just 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring just one goal.

However, he was fit to play a part in Saturday’s showdown at Wembley, coming off the bench in the third minute of stoppage time as manager Erik ten Hag tried to turn back the clock.

Meanwhile, many of Mount’s United colleagues were also in attendance as Diogo Dalot was on the grid alongside Brazilian winger Antony.

Dalot has been one of the club’s best players this season and was recently crowned United’s player of the season.

He also played a key role in last weekend’s FA Cup triumph and was in good spirits as he walked between the various Formula 1 cars and took a moment to chat with Sky Sports presenter Martin Brundle.

It was the first time Dalot had the chance to properly share his feelings after his Wembley interview was interrupted prematurely by United captain Bruno Fernandes.

Giving his assessment of his team’s FA Cup victory, Dalot said: ‘It went very well. The best way to end the season and now it feels good to come here as an FA Cup winner.

He went on to explain that Monaco was his first F1 experience, adding: ‘It’s my first time. I couldn’t have picked a better place to come and it’s an incredible experience. I hope I enjoy the race.’

Other football superstars were also in attendance on race day, including Liverpool duo Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Kylian Mbappe also took in the super-rich setting.
