The nurse, 32, and the tour guide, 39, have had a rocky relationship so far in the dating experiment, and it all came to a head in Tuesday’s episode, when Ellie insisted she was ‘done’ after a huge row.
They then arrived at the dinner party separately on Wednesday, with Ellie telling the fellow couples how Ben had written a list of things he didn’t like about her, including that she wears make-up.
Ben was quickly confronted by the group about the list at the party, but things took a shocking turn when he suddenly broke things off with Ellie in front of everyone.
He caused outrage around the table when he suddenly told Ellie they were ‘better off as friends’, leaving the bride in tears over the shocking confrontation.

The drama started when the group asked Ben why he had made a list detailing what he didn’t like about Ellie, as he was accused of being ‘controlling’.
When the infamous list came up, Ben insisted: ‘I didn’t write it down, I had a book in front of me, it was just points.’
But Ellie clarified: “The first thing you said on that list was about wearing makeup.”
Cassandra Allen rages at the camera: “Take that list and shove it up your ass!”
While Jono McCullough said to the camera: ‘I don’t understand Ben, he had a beautiful, sweet girl, I actually want to punch him in a metaphorical sense. Like, stop ruining this great opportunity, but he definitely ruined a good thing, I would say.”
Sara Mesa added, “That’s the most controlling thing I’ve ever heard a man say.”

Trying to justify himself, Ben continued, “I don’t have any sisters, Ellie spends a lot of time in the mirror.”
But Jono said: ‘There were excuses, stories and revelations, I don’t buy what he’s selling at all.’
And Lauren Dunn added: “It’s actually cruel, it’s not nice.”
Ben then angrily hit out at Sara, saying he ‘didn’t care’ about her opinion, before Ellie told him she thought he was ‘fake’.
Ben then dropped a bombshell when he told Ellie: “The truth is, I don’t believe we’re meant to be together. I really believe we’re better off as friends. My apologies for wasting your time.”

Ellie broke down in tears as she reeled from the shocking comment, saying: “So everyone can witness my broken heart.”
Eden told the camera, “Ben wanted Ellie back, Ellie didn’t want Ben back, and he’s now turned it around like I just want to be friends, and that’s not what happened.”
Ben left Ellie in disbelief and told the group: ‘A few weeks ago there were indeed doubts. If I had a time machine, I might have written leave a few weeks ago.”

Ellie was left furious that Ben hadn’t even tried to consider her feelings and insisted she didn’t want him in her life, accusing him of ‘wasting’ her time.
