Married At First Sight’s Claire and Jesse QUIT the experiment in explosive commitment ceremony
Jesse Burford accused Claire Nomarhas of staying on Married At First Sight to repair her public image after her cheating scandal earlier in the season.
And on Sunday night, the couple officially ended their relationship after weeks of trying – and failing – to make their relationship work.
During the commitment ceremony, Claire and Jesse made the decision to leave the show.
Jesse explained it was difficult to move past Claire cheating on him with Adam Seed.
‘I have stretched myself so much. But Harrison’s comments really brought back a lot of things I’ve been pushing to the side about trust,’ he explained before revealing his decision to leave.

Claire then said: ‘I take full responsibility for what I did and I didn’t stick around for my image. I stuck around to show Jesse that you can make a mistake and come back from it and you can feel good and cared for.’
‘I was so looking forward to sitting on this couch and talking about the great week that we had and the retreat,’ she said before revealing she would be leaving.
Their relationship got off to a rocky start when Jesse would repeatedly find fault with his wife’s behaviour and hobbies.
Things went from bad to worse weeks later when Claire cheated on her husband with another groom, Adam Seed, during a boozy night out.
Despite these hurdles, the couple did manage to find common ground and were making progress with each other during family week.
But Jesse, who had earlier tried to leave the experiment after Claire’s infidelity was exposed, could not shake the feeling his wife was only staying with him to rehabilitate her reputation after her cheating scandal.
His anxieties were laid bare at the dinner party on Wednesday when Harrison Boon deflected attention from his own marital woes with Bronte Schofield by accusing Claire of using Jesse as a pawn to make herself look better.

‘What Harrison said is what I’m perhaps afraid to say or even admit to myself,’ Jesse said as the entire dinner table fell silent.
‘How can I trust that you stayed to build a connection with me and not to repair your image?’ he told Claire.
‘And this is the problem with cheating, I can’t trust you.’
Jesse then said he knew deep down Claire only saw him as a friend, not a partner, adding that it killed him to know she’d connected with Adam the way he’d longed to connect with her throughout the whole experiment.
Claire was stunned by this admission, but did not deny anything he said.
