Manchester City touchdown in Istanbul ahead of Champions League final

Manchester City landed in Istanbul on Saturday ahead of the Champions League final against Inter Milan.

Pep Guardiola’s side arrived in Turkey aboard their sky-blue club plane on Thursday evening and were greeted by supporters and tournament representatives.

City are aiming to become only the second team in English football history to secure the legendary Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble.

There was a split in outfits between players and staff as both sets wore sponsored styles as they stepped off the plane in Istanbul’s humid heat.

Guardiola and his staff in the back room wore all-black outfits consisting of smart leather shoes, a polo shirt and a formal jacket that the City manager decided to wear.

Meanwhile, the first team players were dressed in denim wash jeans, white polo shirts with the club crest on them and similar black shoes.

Individuals carried their own luggage off the plane and down the adjoining staircase, while English star Jack Grealish held a designer Gucci suitcase and Phil Foden carried a black Louis Vuitton backpack.

Guardiola was singled out by greeters waiting on the airport tarmac as he handed over a huge bouquet of flowers, though the Spaniard needs a vase to keep them alive at the team’s hotel during his side’s three-night stay.

Erling Haaland looked focused as he made his way down from the plane behind centre-back Manuel Akanji.

The Premier League champions were then led to two sponsored Man City coaches who will take them to their hotel, where they will stay during their stay in Turkey.

City will wake up in the morning for a training session ahead of the end-of-season showpiece taking place at Ataturk Olympic Stadium on Saturday.

Inter also arrived in Istanbul on Friday, having left Italy earlier in the afternoon.
