Manchester United have received a major boost in their search for former player Angel Gomes, according to reports.
The 24-year-old was made his Three Lions debut by interim head coach Lee Carsley earlier this month.
The former Manchester United star impressed in his two Nations League appearances against Ireland and Finland, alerting many Champions League clubs to his availability.
Gomes has entered the final year of his contract with Lille and he will be free to sign pre-contracts with other clubs from January 1, if he decides not to put pen to paper on a new contract with the Ligue 1 club.
And according to https L’Equipethere are no signs of Gomes signing an extension before that date, which will be a big boost for United.

Erik ten Hag’s team would like to bring Gomes back to Old Trafford
Following the sale of Leny Yoro to United for £52 million in the summer, it is reported that Lille could be tempted to cash in on Gomes in January rather than let him leave for free next year.
The midfielder started his career in England at United and joined the twenty-time English champions at the age of six.
Three years after making his Old Trafford debut in 2017 aged just 16, the talented midfielder left his boyhood club for a move to France.
Gomes’ influence at Lille in his four years at the club, during which he contributed to 27 goals, has attracted interest from clubs in his home country.
The Sun previously reported that Newcastle United, Liverpool and Tottenham could all be in contention for the 6ft 7in player.
However, in 2022, Gomes made it clear that he would be happy to return to Old Trafford if the situation arose.
‘I imagine I’ll ever come back? Obviously it’s home,” Gomes told French outlet L’Equipe.
‘I’d love to come back. But in football you never know. I just have to keep my feet on the ground and keep playing and make the best of it. I can’t predict what will happen in the future.’
